SOLD! S.267. Very nice American French and Indian Period frontier made short sword. The item is 21" in length with a iron sword blade of 15 1/2". The blade's tang runs through an ash wood 6 1/4" wooden handle. The blade appears to have been a iron cutlass blade that was broken and then recycled into a short sword. The blade has a lovely age patina to it. The handle is also in very good condition. Several similar such items were featured in the recent Smithsonian Museum's French and Indian War exhibit.................$125.SOLD!

SOLD! S.286. Very nice U.S. Army WWII bayonet (M1905E1). The bayonet is hall marked AFH with the ordanance bomb symbol bracketted by U. S. On either side of the ricasso is the stamped number 11. The blade is 10" in length, parkerized, with a spear point head. The steel guard with muzzle ring and birds head pommel are in good condition as well as the black plastic ribbed grip. The blade is factory sharpened and has several minute nicks at the blade end. The green fiber scabbard with metal throat is in good condition. Nice ensemble...............$75.SOLD!

NEW! S.302. Very nice large (23" long by 1/2"- wide) Japanese WWII kai-gunto sword tassel for a Japanese Naval officers sword. The tassel was removed from a sword sold separately. Where the tassel looped through the saru-te, the tassel edges show light frying. The tassel rope shows no discoloration, still being a single color brown. Good condition...........................$175.NEW!

NEW! S.303. Five nice sets of two each matching seppa(es) for WW II Japanese shin-gunto / kai-gunto swords. These were used as small guard washers (spacers) on either side of the dai-seppa ( the large washer (spacer)) found on either side of the tsuba. They helped tighten the sword blade to handle. They are made of copper and brass and each set is a matched set. Some are numbered. These are always needed to tighten a sword handle to the blade assembly especially after years of handle dry out. S.251. Very nice Japanese WWII samurai Japanese Army sword (Shin-gunto). The sword is 38” long with the handle 10” long and the blade 27” long. The blade is massive (quite heavy) and is in very good condition – no rust or pitting. The tsuba is made of iron and is oval in shape. The handle is in good condition with the ray skin and wrapping complete. The 8” tang has writing on both sides. The metal scabbard is in very good condition and retains all of its’ olive drab paint scheme. This sword was part of a 29 WWII Japanese sword collection brought back from the Pacific theater by a U.S. Navy jeep carrier pilot.............................................................…$825.

SOLD! S.268. Samurai sword with metal scabbard in the WWII style shin-gunto mounts. The sword is 40 1/2" in overall length with a blade that is 27 1/2' to the brass tsuba. The blade is in very good condition - no bending, pitting, nicks. It does have a dullness from some type of now cleaned off liquid or grease preservative. The blade could definitely use some hand polishing. The brass habaki is in a blacken condition requiring some cleaner like Brasso. The habaki is numbered 08667. The brass tsuba and push button blade retention mechanism are in good condition as is the handle. The "skin", menuki and wrapping are in good condition. Gentle attempts to remove the handle to expose the tang have proven unsuccessful. The metal scabbard is in good condition. There is some dark green paint loss on both sides between the suspension ring and the mid scabbard fitting. This sword was obtained at a past huge annual August Madison-Bouckville, New York flea and antique market show...............$725.SOLD!

S.269. Very nice WWII Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) officer's sword (kai-gunto). The sheathed sword is 37 3/4" long with the blade being almost 26" long to the tang head. The blade shows no hamon or yokote. The blade tip shape is long (o-kissaki). The blade edge has several minor nicks and the upper surface ridge top ( mune-hikushi) has what looks like a second blade induced series of nicks, which do not detract from the blades' overall appearance. The tang is quite long, 9" and is signed and also has the owner's name in black paint in kanji charactors. The tang tip is of the ship's bottom design (funa-gata). The tang's file marking is V - shaped to the sword point (taka-no-ha) like that practiced by the smiths of Yamato and Mino provinces. There is a small what looks like a Kokura Arsenak stamp on the tang. The blade is of the heavy variety.The blade's habaki (collar) appears to be made of thick copper with the horizontal rain design. The lone seppa (spacer) is brass with the number 13 impressed on one side. The tsuba is a large cheically blackened iron ovoid also marked with the number 13.
The handle is in quite good condition with the pommel (kashira), fuchi and menuki retaining their vast majority of gilt. The fushi is also stamped with the number 13. The menuki (cherry bolssom hilt ornaments) have a very nice relief. The hilt's wrappings are original and show hardened wear. The tassle loop (saru-te) is also made of a chemically blackened iron fitted loop. The black lacquered wooden scabbard has retained the scabbard tip (ishizuke), scabbard band (semegane) and one suspension mount - all in their original gilt. The throat guard (kuchiane) is not present. This is a very nice kai-gunto that needs an appreciative home...............................................................$1,100.

SOLD! S.270. Very nice original kyu-gunt sword knot. The knot is a dark colored German style knot (the base having a crown) on a dark fabric strap with a light colored slider. The knot is made of twisted black cotton cord, with the strap being made of black wool. This sword knot came with a Company grade kyu-gunto parade sword. This is a very nice and hard to fine sword knot. This would be a nice addition to a Japanese sword collectors' collection....................................$250.SOLD!

S.271 Very nice Type 19 Company grade kyu-gunto style parade sword with the company grade decoration consisting of the cherry blossom on the backstrap side ears and a floral design at the pommel. The handle is in very good condition as is the wire threading. The handle has an unidentified silver disc mon mounted on the backstrap. The sword is 35 1/2" in length with the steel chrome plated blade being 29". The leather bumper is still present below the hilt. The blade is in very good condition - no bending, rust, nicks or chrome flaking. The steel chrome plated scabbard has all of its' component and is in good original manufactured condition. The scabbard has retained the majority of its' chrome plating. This sword would be a good addition and complement a Japanese sword collection.................................$325.

SOLD! S.281 WWII Japanese Army officer's shin-gunto samurai sword, in fine condition. The sword length is 39 1/2" long with the blade being 27" long to the brass tsuba (hilt). The blade is massive, thick, without cracking, pitting - it has a great polish to it. There is no visible hamon. The tang tip is kiji-momo (pheasant thigh) and the tang filing is greatly slanting left (0-suji-chigai). Both sides of the tang are signed. The blade sleeve (habaki) is silver over copper, the design vertical rain. The tang has one rivet hole and is in excellent condition. There is a painted (white) two kanji charactor (owner's name) on one side of the tang. The blade mountings are WWII military. The four (4) seppas (spacers) and tsuba are all numbered 50. The locking mechcansim is also numbered 50. The sword handle wrapping, set of cherry blossom menuki, pommel and fushi are in as fine a condition as you can find. The metal scabbard has retained all of it's fitting and more importantly the original dull brown paint. Both sword and scabbard fit snuggly. This sword matches the best that can be found on eBay...................$1200.SOLD!

SOLD! S.282. Very nice Japanese civilian katana impressed into the Second World War effort. The overall sword length is 38.5" with the blade to tsuba being 28" and the handle, 9 3/4". The scabbard is made of wood with a black lacquer paint over which is a canvas scabbard combat cover. This is unusal as most battle covers were made of leather. The canvas and stitching are in good condition. The scabbard has one suspension ring and hanging from that is the remanents of a IJA company grade tassel. The sword blade is hand forged, heavily signed and has a showa logo stamp on the base of the tang with kanji initials within the logo. The blade is in nice condition and exhibits a very nice irregular zizag (gunome) hamon, both sides, down to the yobote. The blade tip is solid temper (ichi-mai). The blade curvature is shallow of the torii variety.The tang's tip is double-bevelled (kuri-jiri) and the sword's ridgeline carries right back along the tang to it's tip. The tang's file marks are most unusual - reversed V on one side and inverted V / checked (higaki) on the other side. The tang shows no rust or metal chipping. This is a very nice blade. The mountings are also in fine condition. The guard (tsuba) is of a cast heavy brass design of an enveloping dragon, with a silver plate finish. It is not signed.. There are two (2) copper spacers and a brass habaki (sleeve). - all in good condition. The hilt (handle) looks like a buke-zukuri design - it more more straight than that found on a shin-gunto. The handle is in great condition with the tsuba pommel (fuchi) and the handle base pommel (kashira) in brass with gold finish. The design of both is plum blossoms in high relief. This signifies that the owner was most likely located in a colonial territory or Manchukuo. The wrappings and skin are tight and the two menuki also in good condition. The pair of menuki are long, 1 3/4+ inches, appear to be made of copper that once was gilded. Their design is a row of three diamond shaped logos with a petaled flower in each logo frame. This sword was purchased a number of years ago from a WW II veteran's living estate who resided in Montana. All in all a very nice sword that deserves an appreciative home.................$1150.SOLD!

SOLD! S.287. Very nice Edo period Japanese tanto blade with original habaki and wooden scabbard. The blade length is 12" in length with the tang being 3 1/2" in length. The blade is in good polish, has a high top ridge profile, no readily distinquishable hamon, has a long point and slight yokote. The blade is chip and nick free. The tang has two holes, no rust on the surface and is unsigned. The habaki is silver foil over a copper base. The wooden scabbard shows loss of lacquer and has both ends chipped thus exposing the wood. It is the blade that is significant. It is an ideal candidate for re-assembly with period parts.............................$245.SOLD!

S.289. Very nice WWII Japanese Army non-commissioned officer's sword. The sword has matching serial numbers, both on the blade and scabbard mouth, 15916. The blade is in good condition as well as the handle, the latter appearing to be made of copper. The fushi is marked with several charactors including the Kokura arsenal logo. The scabbard is dent free and appears to have been re-painted but in the correct paint color scheme. I picked this up at a Front Royal, Virginia flea market sometime ago.......................................$435.

S.301. WWII Japanese Army parade sword. The sword in scabbard is 36" long with the blade length being 29". The chrome plate sword blade is in good conditition and still has it's original leather scabbard "bumper". The blade is straight and still shows the factory produced hamon. The brass handle is in fine condition, retaining some of it's original gold wash and it's tight wire grip around the black horn handle. The scabbard is complete with the suspension ring being present. The lower part of the scabbard show a slight bend to the right, which has had no effect on the sword, itsself. Nice item that needs an appreciative home.............................$200.

SOLD! S.266. Ersatz Bayonet, fullered blade on both sides with metal scabbard. The bayonet's overall length is 21 1/4" with the blade being 15 1/8" long. The blade has period staining, no rust. The wooden handle with metal eagle head pommel is aged stained and complete........................$50.SOLD!

S.300. Very nice German hunting dagger with complete leather scabbard. The dagger is 18 1/2" long with a blade measuring 12 1/2". The blade is heavily acid etched engraved on both sides with forest and animal scenes, On one blade side is the word "Waidmannsheil" and a maker's identification, WEYERSBERG & Co, SOLINGEN. The blade is in good condition and still retains its' factory sharpened edge. The handle consists of a heavy brass frame with the hilt guard being a hoof and acorn end design. The pommel is a solid brass eagle head. The handle grips are stag horn with two large brass rivets through the blade's tang. The handle is tightly fitted to gether. The leather scabbard is in fine condition and has all of it's original brass fixtures. The seam stitching is complete. There are no cracks, leather chips or leather discoloration. This is one nice period dagger.........................$465.

NEW! S.305. Very nice Dolch fur Offiziere (Navy Officer's Dagger) hall marked Herst with Herst logo. The bright double engraved blade is in good condition as is the handle, gilded hilt and pommel. The aluminum thread knot is in proper tie and the handle retains it's double wire wrap. The brass lightening bolt scabbard is also in good condition. This was recently purchased at a Berlin, Germany auction. A nice piece to complement a dagger or Kriegsmarine collection.................................................$825.NEW!

REMOVED! S.228. Very nice SA dagger hall marked with the RZM logo and M7/83. The 83 is the numeric code assigned to the dagger's manufacturer Pluemacher Sohn (Richard Pluemacher). The dagger blade is in good condition as is the blade slogan "Alles fur Deutschland". The wooden handle grip is in very good condition and is made from peach tree wood. The SA enamel button insert and eagle insert are also in fine condition. The pommel and cross guard are in good condition - no nickel flaking; the pommel tang nut is in fair condition. The metal scabbard has all of it's nickel plated fittings and fitting screws. The anodized brown paint is no longer present. This is a vet bring back from a Sgt. Tysam. Again the dagger is in very nice condition....................$375.REMOVED!

SOLD! S.255. Complete black leather K-98 rifle bayonet frog- unmarked. The frog is in good worn condition and is of the "SS" variation in that it has the leather retention strap for the bayonet handle. Hard to find......................$45.SOLD!

SOLD! S.275. Very nice NSKK enlisted man's dress dagger. The blade is in fine shape with a crisp inscription "Alles fur Deutschland". The blade has the RZM logo and hall mark M7/36. the RZM assigned number 36 was for E. & F. Horster, Kattenbergerstrasse 128. The wooden handle and the insert logos are in fine condition. The pommel and hilt have some nickel plating loss. The black metal scabbard is in good condition retaining the majority of its' original annodized paint scheme..............................$550.SOLD!

The handle pommel has two (2) waffen acceptence marks. The metal scabbard is also in good condition - serial number 9150 and hall marked and dated 42cof. SOLD! S.277. Nice WWII German K-98 bayonet, scabbard and tropical frog with retaining strap. The factory sharpened bayonet has the serial number 3786 and the hall mark S.178.G The handle is wood, the blade and pommel chrome plating over steel. There is a waffen mark, eagle over 75 on the pommel's locking button. The metal scabbard has the serial number 9007 and 42 fno.The scabbard's drag also has an acceptance mark. The scabbard is in good condition and has lost much of it's oroginal bluing to surface rust. The tropical frog is in fine condition. This is a nice ensemble.........................$145.SOLD!

SOLD! S.283. Very nice police (SS) portepee in nice used condition. The acorn knot has a tarnished gold woven finish with the slider also of a gold wire braid construction. The slider does show some unraveling, the acorn knot does not. The portepee hanger is in fine condition, black woven cloth inter-twined with gold thread. There is no unit or branch logo on this sword knot.

SOLD! S.285. Very nice used condition luftwaffe general's sword portepee. The entire portepee and acorn knot is a gold color. The material used in the construction of this sword knot is a finely woven and braided cloth. This portepee was part of a now broken up Luftwaffe side arm collection...........................$65.SOLD!

S.288. WWII German Army K-98 bayonet with metal scabbard. The bayonet is in good condition, factory sharpened with the hall mark MUNDLOS, date 38 (1938) and serial number, 329 b. The backelite grip is in good condition. The pommel has two (2) waffen marks with the number WaA243. The metal scabbard is hall marked E. PACK & S and is also dated 1938. It has the serial number 6515 C. This ensemble is in good condition for seventy years old...............................................$95.

S.290. Early manufactured K-98 bayonet with metal scabbard. The bayonet has five (5) inspector's acceptance waffen marks, Weimer Republic and Third Reich. The bayonet blade is serial numbered 4998 with the Mauser logo.The other side has S/755G. The blade is factory sharpened, not field altered. The wooden handle is complete and crack free. The pommel and hilt show slight surface corrosion. The scabbard is serial numbered 9313 and has S/240G stamped on one side of the scabbard's throat. That side has some limited surface corrosion as well...........................................$95.

S.291. Dress/combat bayonet black leather hanger (frog), wide pattern style. There is no hall mark or date on the frog, all of the stitching is intact and the leather is very supple..................$35.

S.292. Nice WWII German K-98 Kriegsmarine issued rifle bayonet with metal scabbard. The bayonet's blade and pommel retain the majority of bluing and are in good condition. The wooden walnut gripes are also in good condition. The bayonet has the serial number 5869 m. The blade is also marked with a S.178 G hall mark. The scabbard is also in good condition with most of the original bluing present but with some surface corrosion on one side. The scabbard has the serial number 8355 d. The scabbard also has the S/176 G number which is two (2) off from the blade's hall mark. In addition the bayonet appears to be that of a Kriegsmarine issue with the Nord See Division issue number N. 8320. Nice ensemble............................$175.

S.293. WWII German K-98 bayonet leather "Frog" with bayonet handle retention strap. The strap is in good functioning condition as is the entire black leather frog. The frog has no date nor manufacturers identification mark. One washer face is missing, other than that it is a complete ensemble....................................$55.

S.294. Nice WWII German K-98 bayonet with scabbard and leather frog. The frog is the handle strap (SS) variation. The bayonet's handle is reddish bakelite , both sides of the handle grip in fine condition. The pommel has a waffen acceptance mark. The blade is in good condition and has the number 4 on the top of the blade's ridge line. The blade has the serial number 1089 D and the manufacturer's code, bym. The accompanying metal scabbard is also in good condition and is stamped 7329. The scabbard has retained some of it's bluing and has a age patina to it. The leather frog is in good condition, no hall mark identification present. This is a very nice ensemble...........................................$145.

S.295. Good condition bayonet scabbard for a WWII German K-98 bayonet. The scabbard has retained much of it's original bluing and is dent and rust free. The maker's mark is 42 (1942 manufacture) and ddl for Remscheider Hobelmesserfabrik, Josua & Sohn. The scabbard's serial number is 9767. There is a waffen acceptance mark on the scabbard's end drag. I do not know what became of the bayonet but if you need a scabbard for a K-98 bayonet, here is a good one...........................................$75.

S.296. WWII German K-98 rifle bayonet. The bayonet's blade is in fine condition retaining much of it's original bluing. There is no rust, chips, still factory sharpened. The blade has the serial number 3778 and maker's identification, S/173G. The pommel is in good condition showing minute dent marks. The "button" has a waffen acceptance mark on it. The walnut wooden handle has several dents and one minor wood chip. The scabbard has also retained much of it's bluing and has the serial number 5324, hallmarked DURKOPP and dated 38 (1938). Nice original ensemble..,,,,......,,,,,,,,,..$115.

S.297. German WWII K-98 bayonet with accompanying metal scabbard. The bayonet has the dark reddish brown bakelite grips and the eagle pommel has two (2) waffen acceptance marks WaA253. The blade has the serial number 4198 f; the maker mark KARL EICKHORN and the date 40 (1940) on the top of the blade. The blade retains much of its' original bluing and is in good condition. The scabbard has a waffen acceptance mark on the drag and has the serial number 933 q, maker mark  E. u. F. Horster and the date 1937. This is a nice ensemble..,,,.........,,......$125.

S.298. WWII German K-98 bayonet with metal scabbard. The bayonet's blade is stainless steel as is the pommel and handle frame. The blade is the standard K-98 blade, no rust or pitting and is still factory sharpened. There is no serial number or maker mark. The handle grips are of walnut with the left side grip having the capital intials L A. The left side of the eagle head pommel has some surface rust staining. The scabbard also has no maker or serial number I.D. The scabbard's surface still shows rememants of it's original black paint. Interestingly the throat screw is mounted on the front just above the metal frog attachment. Most K-98s have the screw mounted on the side of the scabbard's throat. This is a nice unique original bayonet priced right at.........................$95.

S.299. Nice hall marked asw 44 (1944) German K-98 bayonet, serial number 5341. The blade is in very good condition, is factory sharpened and retains much of it's original bluing. The dark red/brown bakelite grips are also in good condition.  The handle frame and eagle head pommel show metallic age staining and surface rust on the pommel. There are two waffen acceptance marks on the pommel. The scabbard has the serial number 1292 and has surface rust and age patina. The scabbard has it's original leather frog which is in good condition. The stitching and all four rivets are present. Also the frog does have the handle belt retention strap as found in use by SS units. It is a nice combination..............................$145.
